

Nawlakha temple is an ancient temple located in Bishnupur area of Begusarai. As per earlier records and folklores, it is said that this temple was built by Mahanth Deer Das Ji in middle of 17th century. Later, it got renovated by Mahanth Mahavir Das in 1952.
The temple is called “Naulakha” because around nine lakh rupees were spent on its construction during the British era—a huge amount at that time.
The architecture of the temple reflects traditional Indian craftsmanship.
A sacred Shivlinga is installed here, and during the holy month of Sawan (Shravan), thousands of devotees visit to perform jalabhishek (offering holy water).
The temple attracts large gatherings of devotees, especially during Mahashivratri and the Sawan month.
Local belief says that worshipping here fulfills the wishes of devotees.
